Karate is still being classified as a minor sport and doesn't get the kudos or hype that the more popular sports such as football, track and field, netball do.

But two organizations that continue to give great support to karate in Jamaica are the Jamaica Olympic Association (JOA) and the Sports Development Foundation (SDF).

These two bodies have been extremely supportive of our Karate teams in their endeavour for advanced training and participation in overseas qualification tournaments.

These teams have achieved much success and it wouldn't have been possible without the JOA and the SDF.

Nuff respect and gratitude to both.

On behalf of the Western Relays organizing committee, thank you and the Sports Development Foundation (SDF) for the tremendous support to the tune of Two Million Dollars in 2022 - a year of great need due to the lack of a title or major sponsor. The situation remains the same, hence we ask for your support again to make this very important track and field calendar event a reality.

A modified (to meet the Covid-19 protocols) but successful Western Relays was held last year. Over forty' thousand persons watched the livestream" of the meet which received extensive media coverage in the traditional media, as well associal media and the internet.

The support of the SDF made all the difference and is highly appreciated. Western Relays represents the best of the West and should be allowed to continue to showcase the best that Jamaica has to offer in terms of Meet Management and Athlete performance. It is scheduled to be held at GC Foster College once againThe organizers look forward to going back to its home at the Montego Bay Spoils Complex as soon as renovations are completed.

We therefore look forward to the SDF for its support of the Western Relays in 2023 and beyond, so that Jamaica's finest human resources can be nurtured and developed, for the betterment of our country.

trophyThanks for your support in ensuring that the Court was built. The girls won the competition again.

Netball has been a sport that Portland Cottage Primary formerly Portland Cottage All Age, loves and participate in. We were competitive and we did fairly well, although we did not have a proper netball court.

Thanks to the Sports Development Foundation we were gifted with a multipurpose court and this has helped our netball improve leaps and bounds. We were able to retain our INSPORT netball title again. With our new court we will be working very hard to be champions again in 2023.

Without the support of the SDF this would not have been possible for her and behalf of everybody we wish to express our gratitude and thanks.

Miss Houston we are sure, is very much aware of the responsibility on her shoulders to make maximum use of this opportunity.

The Eastern Secondary Schools Sports Association extends gratitude to you for the donation of Eight Hundred Thousand Dollars to enable the hosting of our event at the National Stadium. This certainly assisted us greatly in defraying the cost of the event.

I am happy that you were kind enough to contribute to the development of our young and talented athletes who got the opportunity to showcase their athletic capabilities at such a momentous event as Eastern Championships.

Again I express sincere gratitude and wish the Sports Development Foundation every success in their future endeavours.

The Linstead Community Development Committee along with the following organizations namely: St. Helens Youth Group, the Rotary Club of North St. Catherine, the Optimist Club of North St. Catherine and the Optimist Club of Ewarton hosted their Annual Summer Youth Camp under the theme, Celebrating thirty (30) years of youth and community development through summer youth camping.

Through your generous contribution this year’s summer camp experience was phenomenal, as we celebrated our thirtieth (30th) anniversary year of camping in full style. We were able to adequately facilitate campers between ages of seven (7) to twenty ( 20) years old from churchesuniformed groups, community groups, as well as those with disabilities.

The camp that was held over the period of August 8th-22nd 2022 sought to build integral life skills while we still practiced the safety measures to prevent the Novel Corona Virus. Team building was the foundation of the camp and expressing gratitude through the spirit of volunteerism.

The Linstead Community Development Committee wishes to express its unwavering appreciation for the help received. With your contributions you have helped to change lives and restore the hopes of a brighter future. Thank you for your continuous support as we continue to build our communities, parishes and our country Jamaica; land we love.
